Tormentil is a native perennial, very common on grassland, mountains, heaths and bogs throughout Britain.
Grows to a height of 25cm.
The plant is said to be a cure for colic, diarrhoea and even cystitis. The roots contain tannin and if chewed occasionally may keep the mouth clear of mouth complaints and harden the gums.
