Reddish Vale Country Park
Strines Weir was apparenty built to feed the Print Works reservoirs via the mill race. The weir fell into disrepair and was eventually destroyed in a flood in the 1960' s, all that remains is the sluice gate.
The photos below shows the weir around 1900 before the sluice gate was added.

The sluice gate at Strines is still standing although a change in the course of the river has left it high and dry.
The next three photos are by Jim Wild, the first one taken before the weir was destroyed, the second two after the flood.
